For example, the steel pipes used in many air conditioning systems are susceptible to corrosion from the outside. Condensation, which forms between the insulation and the pipe, attacks the pipe surface and decomposes it. In heating systems, corrosion inside the pipe is a major problem: it leads to pressure losses and increased energy consumption from the pumps.
With aquatherm blue pipe, however, corrosion damage is a thing of the past. aquatherm blue pipe is made from 100 percent corrosion-resistant polypropylene. This considerably extends the service life of an air conditioning or heating system.
Thanks to its inherent heat and sound-insulating properties, aquatherm blue pipe requires significantly less insulation than metal pipes to protect against heat and cold loss or condensate formation. This makes it ideal for heating and cooling systems from commercial buildings to single-family houses. aquatherm pipes and fittings are connected by welding. The plastic melts into a homogeneous, cohesive unit. Depending on the dimension, pipes and fittings are joined by the heating element socket welding method, the butt welding method or the electric socket welding method.
