aquatherm gray pipe can be used variably for drinking water installation or radiator connection. The installation pipe system consists of high quality multilayer metal composite pipe. Depending on the application, you can choose between insulated and non-insulated pipes. All pipes are DVGW certified and of course oxygen-tight.

aquatherm gray pipe is characterized by its good flexibility and high dimensional stability. The connection is made using the sliding sleeve technology, which offers significant advantages, particularly for flexible storey connections. Whether as a radiator connection or in the plumbing installation – without great tool and installation effort, permanent and tight connections between small-sized connecting lines, brass and plastic fittings are created.

Technical specification

The advantages of the aquatherm gray pipe connection pipes for the floor connection application are convincing:

  • Oxygen-tight thanks to EVOH coating
  •

  • Hygienically neutral PB
  •

  • Microbiologically perfect
  •

  • Corrosion resistant
  •

  • Highly flexible
  •

  • Low friction losses

 The all-rounder

The aquatherm gray pipe system can be used individually in the three areas:

Sanitary

Heating

Underfloor heating

The aquatherm gray pipe-PB connection pipe is particularly flexible, therefore easy to process and flexible to use.

The decisive advantage of the aquatherm gray pipe system is that it can be completely (!) Processed in the house installation.

Remaining lengths that e.g. after installation underfloor heating no longer need to be disposed of, but can also be used for connecting radiators or sanitary areas without any problems.

The user not only saves time and money, but also works with a system that optimally takes into account the modern needs of an environmentally conscious, ecologically minded end user.

The aquatherm grey pipe system offers three different connection pipes:

aquatherm gray pipe multilayer metal composite pipe (white) in rods Ø 16 – 40 mm (16 + 20 mm also available in a ring), made of PE-X

aquatherm gray pipe-PB connection pipe (grey) in a ring Ø 16 – 32 mm, made of the highly flexible material polybutene (PB)

aquatherm orange system PE-RT surface heating and radiator connection pipe (orange) in a ring Ø 16 + 20 mm, with an EVOH barrier layer according to DIN 4726

1. Fittings made of brass

Material:
aquatherm grey pipe system fittings with thread and threaded inserts made of dezincification-resistant brass.

Material designation:

PPSU = polyphenyl sulfone / brass

Properties:

The molded parts of the aquatherm grey pipe system are made from a dezincification-resistant brass due to the current European drinking water directive. This type of brass has been specially developed for use in areas with aggressive water and is used by aquatherm as the standard brass for all metallic fittings and connecting parts.

2. PPSU fittings

Material:

aquatherm grey pipe system molded parts made of the plastic PPSU (PPSU = polyphenyl sulfone)

Properties:

The additional aquatherm grey pipe system fittings are characterised by the following points:

  • High temperature resistant
  • High impact strength
  • Low stress crack sensitivity
  • High impact strength
  • Chemical resistant
  • Hygienic safety
  • Corrosion-free
  • No use of O-rings
  • No cross-sectional narrowing
  • Reduction of metallic influences to
  • the drinking water
  • Significant weight reduction compared to
  • brass molded parts
  • Environmentally friendly production because of the material
  • PPSU recyclable

The favorable property profile of aquatherm gray pipe opens up a wide range of possible uses. The material PPSU is used both in the aerospace industry and in medical technology. Especially with regard to the harmlessness in contact with food, especially with drinking water, aquatherm gray pipe system molded parts made of PPSU are the first choice for use in sanitary engineering.

Furthermore, its high temperature and pressure resistance is ideal for the heating technology application.

aquatherm grey pipe sanitary and radiator connection pipes are made from the highly flexible, heat-stable material polybutene or multi-layer metal composite (PE-X). The physical and chemical properties are tailored to the special needs of the sanitary and heating sector. aquatherm gray pipe connection pipes comply with the quality requirements of DIN 16968, DIN 4727 and DIN 4726. System separation by means of a heat exchanger is not required in the sense of DIN 4726 when using aquatherm gray pipe pipes in the heating area. The connection pipes are oxygen-tight.

aquatherm grey pipe-PB corrugated pipes are made of polyethylene (PE). These serve as protective tubes, are compressible and can therefore be easily pushed back before the connection.

Sliding sleeve technology

The sliding sleeve technology offers significant advantages, particularly for flexible storey connections.

Whether in the radiator connection sector or in the plumbing installation; With the sliding sleeve technology, you can create inseparable connections between small-sized connecting lines, brass fittings and plastic fittings without the need for extensive tools and fittings.

aquatherm grey pipe-PB-sanitary and radiator connection pipes are inclusive of sliding sleeve connectors under registration no. DW-8501 AU2075 certified by DVGW and under No. 3V207 PB by DIN CERTCO.

Connection technology sliding sleeve

The sliding sleeve connection technology is a form-fitting and integral connection.

The permanently tight connection is created by pressing the aqua-therm gray pipe sliding sleeve over the aquatherm gray pipe pipe with the aquatherm gray pipe fitting.

The sliding sleeve connection technology may only be used with the aquatherm gray pipe system pipes, tools, fittings and connecting parts.
