High demands on technology and design

For football matches or concerts, there are often more people in a stadium than there are inhabitants in some small towns. This results in high demands on sports and event buildings, which have to meet the needs of spectators, athletes or artists as well as the design requirements. Whether as sports floor or lawn heating, ice rink, in the sanitary area or in the air conditioning technology, pipe systems from aquatherm offer individual solutions.

Stadium Dacia Arena

Udine, Italy

The Dacia Arena football stadium in Udine, Italy, which was called Stadio Friuli until 2016, is the home stadium of the Udinese Calcio football club. Built in 1976, it was renovated from 2013 to 2015. Among other things, a lawn heating system made of aquatherm blue pipe was installed on about 9000 square meters.

The turf heating system complies with the current UEFA regulations for stadium infrastructures and ensures that the football pitch can be used even in adverse weather conditions such as snow and frozen ground. In addition, the use of turf heating on football fields significantly improves the turf and increases the regrowth of the grass.

Stadium Wanda Metropolitano

Madrid, Spain

The Wanda Metropolitano is a football stadium in the Spanish capital Madrid. The plant was built between 1990 and 1994. It initially had room for a total of 20,500 spectators. Remodeling work from 2011 to 2017 transformed the venue into a football-only stadium with 67,703 covered seats and bleachers to the edge of the field. This makes it the third largest stadium in Spain. Since 16 September 2017, it is the new venue of the football club Atlético Madrid.

A new fresh water supply was also installed as part of the refurbishment. For this purpose aquatherm supplied the suitable product with its aquatherm green pipe, which ensures a hygienically perfect drinking water quality.

Climbing and bouldering hall 2T

Lindlar, Germany

A former, historic paper factory was converted into an event location: After extensive renovation work, the 2T in Lindlar (North Rhine-Westphalia) now includes not only rooms for meetings, seminars and celebrations, but also a craft beer brewery, an ice skating rink in winter and a climbing and bouldering hall.

For the air-conditioning of the climbing and bouldering hall exclusively our surface heating and cooling system aquatherm black system is used. In addition aquatherm blue pipe is used: on the one hand for the ice rink, on the other hand for the complete piping in the technical centre.
